In most New Jersey recycling programs, the only acceptable plastics are bottles coded #1 or #2.            (photo by Joe Shuler)

October 17, 2001 - At "Through the Looking Glass," the annual recycling symposium and awards luncheon, Dominick D'Altilio, East Orange sanitation superintendent/recycling coordinator, holds the Recycling Excellence (REX) Award which he has just received.  At the symposium in 2000, Dom presented the REX Award to Virginia Lamb; in 2001 he became the eighth recipient of the ANJR equivalent of the People's Choice Award. According to Jim Morris, associate director of the Cook College Office of Continuing Professional Education, Dom is the only New Jersey recycling coordinator to have a supply and demand graph named for him.             (photo by Joe Shuler)
